Default is a graphic design studio based in New York City. The studio provides services across all media; print, web, motion, and environmental. Anisa and Alex approach each of their projects with a rigorous methodology that is both conceptual and pragmatic. They believe that the best solutions are always a collaborative effort between inspired clients and designers.

Default Partners:

Anisa Suthayalai is a founder and creative director at Default. Previously, she worked at design studios such as 2x4, Design MW, VSA Partners and Segura Inc. While at 2x4, she was lead designer of the Prada epicenter in NYC, Vitra, OTIS, and Malin+Goetz. Her work has been widely published and recognized, in 2004, she was awarded as one of Print Magazine’s New Visual Artists. Anisa holds a MA from Savannah College of Art and Design and a BFA from Chulalongkorn University.

Alex Lin is a creative director at Default. Prior to join and officially set up Default LLC. in 2006, he worked at 2x4, and was lead designer of environmental graphics for the Illinois Institute of Technology with OMA and the Toledo Museum of Art Glass Pavilion with SANAA. Alex’s work has been exhibited at the Cooper Hewitt design museum as well as being widely published and recognized. In 2006 Alex was a recipient of the Art Director’s Club Young Guns award. In 2007, Alex’s work for IIT was chosen to be part of MoMA’s permanent collection. Alex holds a MFA in graphic design from Yale University and a BA from the University of the Arts.
